Gentle Monster Face is a brand extension of the eyewear brand into a face care line, designed using only sustainable materials. This higher-end Korean brand sells its glasses $200+, doesn’t cater to any specific gender, has a target age range of 22-39, and is targeted towards fashion students and travelers.

The packaging for the item above, which is 24k Gold Infused Serum, doubles as an eyeglass stand that considers the user when they are applying the serum. Since most of the packaging that is used in face serums have some form of plastic in it, I used serum capsules that are made from gelatin and can dissolve.

The milk cleanser comes in a bottle made of glass and has a stopper that's made out of ceramic; the logo mark is at the top of it to further the branding of the products.

Above is the Charcoal Face Mask Powder, a set that comes with a vial of the powder, a bowl, and a spoon that measures out the proportions of powder to water and fits on the edges of the bowl. Again, the materials are glass and ceramic, and to keep the ceramic from breaking in transit, I was able to make a DIY, mushroom-based mold (seen in the first image) through the company, Ecovative Design, which took 10 days to make.

As a core part of my demographic were people that traveled a lot, I designed the day and night care to be something they can throw away; it’s paper-based packaging. For the forms, I traced the shapes of 2 different pairs of glasses that Gentle Monster sells. For the day cream, I chose a pair that felt that it would protect a person from the sun, and for the night cream, I choose a pair that felt that it was meant more for fashion purposes.
